Former Head of Future Projects at Westland Helicopters Ron Smith argues there’s a reason for that: it offers little and costs a king’s ransom. I am open to it, but like the idea more as a Terrapin variant/module given its armor. The US V-22 Osprey is a class of aircraft unto itself as it is the only manned tilt-rotor in service. Mine Detection: I actually strongly considered this since the present day MH-60 Seahawk does this (A major inspiration for this ship). I went with size 3 for range reasons (to engage turrets) Main guns: I have considered a size reduction for balance. You would have to open the door to use it though. I also considered making the boom part of the module itself like the present-day's MV-22 Osprey's module. Refueling: Didn't see much use for the tractor beam with zero cargo space. Seating: Rifles between seats were planned but overlooked. Also considered "size 0" mounts for FPS weapons, like a grenade launcher or LMG. I had trouble fitting in S1 side door guns, but I could put the gun at the door's bottom gunner would be exposed but high visibility. Guns: The nose remote turret has pretty good coverage (the copilot can use a camera). They could also find enemy mines that you could neutralize with the rockets.Ĭomponents: I plan on adding powerplant/coolers in the cabin roof, shields on the exterior (under wing near anvil logo), rest near the cockpit. In the cargo bay, you would carry 2 search drones, The drones can tend to your mines. Then, when they lose the Kraken, the strike package will find itself stranded far from home.)Īnother role: Mine Detection. Some Kraken Captain is going to move his/her ship close enough to engage in combat with the size 8 guns while it's fighters are out on a mission. Size 2 guns provide a little protection, but also convince pilots not to engage threats. Main guns: I would be tempted to drop the size of the main guns for a weird reason.

It also moves the hose carrying the fuel away from the engine exhaust. Why? Because it won't require you to take off the tractor beam. I would suggest something on the bottom of the ship that dropped down. In the brochure, it shows an Arrow being refueled in flight near a moon/ planet. Refueling: I would think about it a little more. I would also add storage drawers under each seat. Seating: I would consider changing/ designing the marine seating to have slots to hold rifles between the seats and on the edges. If you could keep the wings down during landing, the pilot could engage threats immediately before landing and after take off. A better option might be allowing the pilot to control the wings while in landing mode. It could be mounted on an arm that raised up to allowing it to engage infantry while your team boarded the ship.

Another solution that may not work due to space issues would be a small (size 1) remote laser repeater on the roof. Guns while on the ground: I would love to see door gunner positions like the Valkyrie, but I'm not sure if there is enough space. If it works like fighters, I imagine most will be along the top of the craft. Some of these were mentioned on the community page link for the brochure.Ĭomponent locations: I'm curious as to where access to components will be.
